Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson, originally Mel Colm-Cille Gerard Gibson, is an American Australian actor, born in 1956, in Peekskill, New York. He is not only an actor, but also a film director, film producer, and screenwriter. Mel Gibson became famous with his Academy Award-winning movie “Brave heart”, which he directed, and also, starred in.

Hamlet has been put on stage and screen for many times, but among all, Mel Gibson version of “Hamlet the play” stands out like a sore thumb. The movie became a smash hit among Inanc’10 IB A2 classes with the scenes where Hamlet first encounters the Ghost and Ophelia tells about their first sexual intercourse to Polonius with a different cover. With the camera lingering over Mel Gibson’s face, Mel Gibson thrills the audience with his psycho-blue eyes and increases the dramatic effect of the movie considerably. Mr. Gibson seems at ease with the character’s ever-changing demeanor, though the eyes reveal the torture of Hamlet’s own thoughts and passions in almost all scenes. Despite part of the audience argues that Branagh version of Hamlet is better, it would be apt to deny the effect of Mel Gibson’s energetic interpretation of Hamlet’s melancholy on Inanc’10.
