I’ve heard that Inc’12 was going to perform Romeo and Juliet this year. Inc’09 had performed the same play two years ago. When you say “Shakespeare” at TEVITOL, students who have read the bards works would immediately remember the funny videos of abridged plays of Shakespeare, which you can watch at YouTube. If you were here two years ago, you would see how affected students were of these videos. The abridged Romeo and Juliet was followed by 1 minute version of the play, and a backwards version(!) of the play—just like you can watch in YouTube .

Another interesting performance was Dire Straits piece called “Rome and Juliet” by Ömer Akalın and Ali Cihansın Yıldız . Their performance were enjoyed by the audience, however I would recommend you to watch the original video clip of Romeo and Juliet by DS. It is funny and puzzling at the same time, but you can get what the clip implies once you get a sense of the lyrics. So good luck Inc’12, show us your talents and good understanding of Shakespeare this spring. Your bar is set high, since half of the school has seen Inc’09’s performance. Even if this I not a competition, my suggestion to you would be to be different.
